But if you still choose to subsist, be aware that the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary. You will experience difficulties, disappointments and sometimes total failure. Do not worry, it was like this with everyone, study and deepen more and more. With perseverance and hard work, you will have good harvests.

Species

The Cannabis Sativa is from the Nettle family, it is divided into two sub-species, Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Sativa. Nowadays with the crossing of the two, we have the calls Hybrid, which are the varied skunks and hazes, carrying the best qualities of each.

Cannabis Sativa

They are of equatorial origin, require plenty of light and heat, take up to 3 months for flowering and reach very high statures. Its leaves are thin and long without many branching branches. In bloom, they exude strong citrus odors. Due to these limitations, it is not very suitable for indoor cultivation. It has high levels of THC, after smoked, gives a very energetic and euphoric wave.

Cannabis Indica

Its characteristics are, in almost everything, the inverse of Sativa. It originates in temperate climates, so they require less light and heat than their cousins. Its flowering is faster, and its stature is smaller in comparison to Sativa's family. Its leaves are small and fat, with enough branching of branches. In the flowering, they exude sweet aromas, with much less intensity than the Sativas, and high concentration of flowers. Due to these characteristics, it is the most indicated and the girl of the eyes of every farmer indoor. Its after-smoking effect is a longer and more sedating journey.

Cultivation sinsemilla

Cannabis, like most plants, is divided into males and females. When blossoming next to a male, the female is pollinated and produces seeds, failing to produce much resin. By identifying and removing the males closely, the females stop producing seeds, they dedicate themselves exclusively to producing resin. The function is to protect the flowers from heat, cold and pests. The flowers also develop much more and with greater density. What we smoke is the flower, if they do not know.

How to identify males and females?

When the plant reaches maturity, varying from 4 to 6 weeks, it will be time to start flowering. After up to 14 days of the flowering period, pistils, white "hairs" (indicative of female) or small balls (indicative of male) growing at the base of each node will appear. The pistils grow up to 0.5 cm, being easily visible, appearing in pairs, one on each side of the knot. The balls also grow at the base of each branch, to the groups, looking like small bulges, before the final rounded form. In the balls is the pollen.

Lighting

For those who chose indoor cultivation, this is one of the factors influencing the abundance of their crop. First of all, you should calculate the amount of light needed in your grow. The formula is this:

Lumens - A lumen equals the amount of light emitted by a candle that sticks on 1 square foot from a surface to a foot (1 foot = 0.30m) away.

The quantity of lumens per square meter (lux):

1000 - 5000 lux - Minimum required for life;
10 000 - 15 000 lux - Minimum required for normal but sparse growth;
20 000 - 25 000 lux - Minimum required for robust growth;
25 000 - 30 000 lux - Maximum efficiency for subtropical species;
25 000 - 50 000 lux - Maximum efficiency for equatorial species;
90 000 lux - Sunshine's elements on the Earth's equatorial surface.

Plants need 25 000 - 50 000 lux to grow quickly.

All brands of lamps indicate on the packaging how many lumens are emitted per watt.

Note: Do not confuse lumens with lux, 1 lux = 1 lumen per m².

Light time per day

During the vegetative period, it is necessary that they receive 18 hours a day of light and 12 hours in flowering. Some leave the lights on 24 hours a day in the vegetative, but depending on the species can stress the plant, that is, less harvest.

Colors (Spectra) of Lamps

During the vegetative period the plants need a light with a spectrum equal to or greater than 6500 Kelvin, a bluish white light, this is written on the packaging of it. During flowering need a spectrum between 2700 and 3000 kelvin, a yellow-orange tone. It is very good to keep in the vegetative a lamp of 3000k in the middle of the 6500k, and vice versa in the flowering. The bluish spectrum stimulates the growth of the leaves, produces short, thick stalks and favors a vigorous development, ideal for the vegetative.
